Search for topics by terms. These may be names for concepts or just occur in descriptions or other attributes. Topic names in SNS need not to be unique (homographs), and they can be composed from several words. Within the Thesaurus the flexion of the names is also known. The request supports many refined optional parameters. The results also contain the unique Topic ID which is needed for the getPSI request.

query term: Term to be searched for.
type: search for Topics of the selected type only.
search for: Occurrence of the query term in the fields to be compared. Supports exact match, beginning of word, and contained.
search in: Topic attributes to be searched. The full flexion of names is only available in the Thesaurus. Attribution exceeding the name varies, most comprehensive for the Event types.
add descriptors: This option becomes only effective in case of non-descriptors in the result. In this case SNS adds their associated descriptors to the result list.
language: Names and other attributes get searched in the selected language only.
submit: generates a service request over http GET. The response conforms to the XML Topic Maps format. Return to this Web form using the "back" function of your browser.
